The corrections log

Fixed in public, or it doesn't count.

Every correction to a directory entry lands here. The date, what was wrong, and what the entry says now. Nothing gets quietly edited.

No corrections yet. The directory is young, and so far nobody has caught us on a wrong fact. That won't last, and it isn't the boast it sounds like. It mostly means the directory is small.

When a correction lands, it shows up here as its own dated entry. The entry it belongs to, what the entry said, what it says now, and the source that settled it.

Spotted something wrong? Use the claim or correct page, or write to iggy@askhaley.com. Corrections get checked against the source, then fixed on the record. The method is on the methodology page.

What counts as a correction

A fact in an entry was wrong, and the source proves it. A name, a date, a tool, a money figure, a grade the evidence doesn't support. Those get fixed and logged.

A grade going up because a business sent new proof isn't a correction. That's an update, and the entry carries its own new date. The log is for our mistakes, not their progress.

One more rule. We don't take an entry down because a grade stings. If a fact endangers someone, or the law requires a removal, that's different, and the log will say so.
